Even Atkins would approve
We were in Kanazawa — by the Japan Sea — over the long weekend. The area prides itself on the great food, and we were not disappointed,
Even in Noto, about a 50 minute train ride outside of Kanazawa, we found a Japanese “Fisherman’s Warf” where we found this site. People were buying oysters and seafood and grilling them over charcoal. Lunch that day was grilled oysters, squid, scallops, shrimp and fish. Yum.

What Yukari failed to mention is that, at one point, her father decided the fish grilling place’s scallop selection was not sufficient. So, he strolled into the market, bought some scallops and brought them back to grill outside.
In the US, this would be totally verboten, but it was tacitly condoned by the grillvolk.

Also, we never went to Noto, except to catch a flight home. We ate the grilled fish in nanao.
